Puzzle Sketches in 2010 and beyond

Cut an pasted from last month's newsletter:

Hello Dear Scrappers

I wish to thank you all very much for your continued involvement in the puzzle sketches blog.

Regretfully, I have finally made the decision to step down from managing the challenge site.

In the last few months especially, my ability to look after the blog to the standard I would like has significantly reduced and it is no longer fair to any of you for me to pretend I can manage it effectively.

When I started puzzles over a year ago, I was pretty much a stay-at-home Mum with a little bit of work on the side, but now my home-based graphic design business is growing out of control and with my hours heading rapidly towards full time, I have found I need to re-evaluate my commitments. Life balance is so important and I am discovering more and more that my free time is less and something has to give. Unfortunately it has been the blog that has been getting continually pushed aside for other things in life and the time has come to let it go. L

Puzzle Sketches will remain in ‘hiatus’ for the remainder of the year, but in the meantime I will be calling for registrations of interest in taking it over.

I have really enjoyed the blog in the past year and a bit, and I am sure a new face will be able to breathe fresh life into it again.

If anyone is interested in looking after the blog in the new year, please let me know by return email and we can talk about the details. It does come with a generous DT package thanks to Scrap Therapy.

In the meantime, you can still play along at Scrap Therapy. New puzzle pieces will be announced on the first Sunday of each month, at ST’s Cybercrop Super Sundays.

Thank you all again for your support, I hope you are able to visit again in 2010.

Cheers

Nic

I want to thank you so much for all of the lovely emails I received in response to this newsletter. Your support is very much appreciated.

Please bear with me as I try to sort out a couple of outstanding prizes.

I hope to share October's entries here in the next few days too.

Don't forget to visit Scrap Therapy if you still want to play along. You will find new November puzzle pieces in their forum under Monthly Challenges

Happy Scrapping :)

Handwriting and Stitching

Have you seen October's pieces yet?

Stitching doesn't have to mean a sewing machine. Handstitching is fun, or your could even doodle faux stitches! And don't be scared to use your own handwriting, one day you will be glad you did!

Fran has created a gorgeous layout as usual:

And here's a cute card she made using the 8x8 Fancy Pants pad from Scrap Therapy. A bargain at 20% off!

If you want to try your hand at using the pieces on a card just for fun, please send it through and I will share it here.

But you don't care about that! You want to see October's new pieces!!! Right!?

oooooh, lots going on here!!
This month we are sewing AND writing! Don't be scared!

Let's start with CT member Suzi's sample layout. Suzi was working with a pack of fun Fancy Pants goodies thanks to Scrap Therapy - 20% off all Fancy Pants! I love these Kraft Kuts - so fun!

Suzi has created a double page layout, using all of October's puzzle pieces on both sides!

Is she clever or what!?

PLUS in honour of World Cardmaking Day this month, our team has also been using the puzzle pieces to create cards! If anyone wants to have a go at this, send through your cards as well and I will share them all here just for fun!

Check out what Suzi did:

We have used papers from these Fancy Pants 8x8 pads from Scrap Therapy. I love these things! The same design as the full size papers, but in a smaller print - perfect for cards! And a bargain too! 32 sheets for under $10!!

Don't forget - our first 6 entries go in the draw to win a $15 voucher thanks to Roll2Create
who are hosting a 'Girl's Month In' celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A month-long celebration of all things pink & feminine. Join their forum for some challenges, games, swaps, classes and a SILENT AUCTION. It all begins today!
